Lets see, the suggestions:
Make Sensor boosters extend lock time since they extend range, that means instead of my tempest taking 30 seconds to lock an interceptor (unmodified), it will take how many minutes? And since it would now take a minute or two to lock, ecm becomes amazing effective, even if you only jam once every 5 cycles, lock times would still prevent a lock.
Eliminate bookmarks. Wow, now I get to wait an entire hour for my hauler, in .5+ to make a 20 jump trip, and I better sit there the entire time with my fingers at the ready incase someone decides to suicide gank me, what fun!!!! Thank god that Eve is only a pvp game with absolutely no attempt to have industry and trade.
Make damage mods increase ROF delay. Not even worth mentioning since it would be a wash on DPS, plus that Sniper probably killed you in the first volley, so it would not have helped.
The simple truth of it is that to create a sniper battleship, you have to totally gimp the ship for other purposes. Thats the way this game works, you can only set a ship up to be good at one thing, which makes it weak on other fronts. You either config your gun ship for long range (tracking comps and sensor boosters) or short (painter, web). Snipers are effective only at long ranges, and then only if the interceptor is running in a direction that gives low transversal. Thats a fairly limited window for being able to hit it.
If the issue is gate campers, then rather then asking for changes that nerf everyone in the game, how about something simple.
Give sentries a 500km range. That way you cant out range them. Have the sentries lock on a target until it dies or runs. Have the damage inflicted by the sentries increase with each shot (100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, etc) Make the criminal counter last 1 hour (for the purpose of sentries only).
This would mean that a gate camper in empire will get one shot per hour then have to leave (no all day gate camps at every passing target). He can still travel, he will just have to tank the damage approaching and leaving gates (have the damage multiplier restart at each approach of guns). This eliminates cycle tanking also unless the campers have LOTS of ships to counter with. And since damage keeps increasing with each shot, it would be impossible in any ship to tank.
